The prompt
Help me port an old program I wrote (or have the rights to) to a modern platform. What I have: [source code / a description of how it works / screenshots], written in [language, era, e.g. Visual Basic 6 / Turbo Pascal / Flash ActionScript / old PHP]. Target: [e.g. a web app in TypeScript / a Python desktop app / a mobile-friendly site] Work in stages and stop after each one for my OK: 1. Read the old code and write a plain-English spec: features, inputs, outputs, file formats, quirks I might rely on. 2. Propose the new structure (files, libraries, how state is stored) and list behaviours that can't carry over exactly. 3. Write tests from the spec, using example inputs and outputs from the old program where I can provide them. 4. Port feature by feature; run the tests after each feature. 5. Write a short README: how to run it, what changed, known differences. Don't add features I didn't ask for. Don't use copyrighted assets or code I don't own.Find similar in the app →
